Impairment Evaluation

Under the EEOICPA, former workers can be compensated for what is referred to as impairment. Loss of typical function of organs and/or limbs will be compensated according to an impairment rating.

  • An impairment rating is performed once the claimant has reached Maximum Medical Improvement (i.e. the condition is stabilized and is unlikely to improve with additional medical treatment). Impairment compensation is calculated at:
  • $2500 for each one percent of whole body impairment

Impairment ratings are calculated by a specially trained impairment physician.

Impairment ratings are redetermined every 2 years, and/or upon diagnosis of a new approved condition.

We can help to coordinate your visit with a specialty physician and

setup a reminder so that you can be re-evaluated when the time comes.
